Last Sunday, I was pleased to join Cameron Dick and Jon Raven to cook some snags at the Marsden Neighbourhood Watch Easter barbecue for local residents.
One of the best things about Logan is the way that people here look out for each other and look after each other, and there's no better symbol of that than Neighbourhood Watch.
Neighbourhood Watch members are the eyes and ears of our local community, working closely with police to prevent and report crime such as graffiti, hooning, theft and property damage in our area.
One of the other priorities for Melissa, Chris and the team at Marsden Neighbourhood Watch if to help people engage with their neighbours better and improve community spirit in Marsden.
They so some excellent work in the area as does my friend Wendy and her crew at Crestmead Neighbourhood Watch, and all of the other terrific groups across Logan.
With Neighbour Day coming up this Sunday, it's a good opportunity to say hello to your friends next door and to celebrate the work of the tireless community minded people at Neighbourhood Watch.
If you'd like to get involved with making our community safer, please get in touch with my office and I'll be happy to connect you with one of these great organisations in our local area.
