One of the main reasons I got involved in politics was to make a difference to our local schools so that we give young people their best chance of success.

When I spent lots of time with schools in our community, one thing that stands out is the hard work and dedication of teachers and staff to give our children a quality education.

Unfortunately, the current government has not made supporting our teachers and schools a priority.

The LNP has ripped $230 million of funding from our electorate, which is around $1000 less support per student each year or equivalent to sacking one in seven teachers.

Across the country the $30 billion worth of cuts to education will hit every classroom in every Australian school - government, Catholic and independent.

They don't understand what a big difference extra resources make to our kids' lives.

That's why Labor has developed the Your Child. Our Future plan to deliver the most significant improvement in our education system in a generation.

So your decision at the coming election is clear: a vote for Labor.
